Oh lordy, this article is ludicrous. I love this bit “Apart from clogging up the city centres more cyclists are ending up in the accident and emergency department due to traffic accidents.”
So having cars clogging up the city centers is preferable?!
And if there are more traffic/cyclist accidents, perhaps there are still too many cars on the road?
“After the scooter the cargo bike is easily the most detested means of urban transportation. It is too wide, it is too unwieldy. It invites aggression, and rightly so.”
Errr, I think most people would agree that trucks/lorries are rather horrid, wide and unwieldy.
Sounds to me like the Dutch bike trails have become so popular that they need to be widened and expanded. Perhaps that is what the writer should be focusing on instead.
