Of course the ultimate tune to hammer to while riding is the fourth movement of Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony (see the semi-drafting scene in “Breaking Away”).

Now that I’m a bike rider I need to watch that movie again. I remember it being good (circa 1980).

Another option is the “morning glory” alarm chime from Samsung (or is it Verizon?). I hope everyone enjoyed hearing that this morning. You’re welcome.

I’m a little old school, but I can loop something like this over and over in my head during my commute in the morning, and arrive at work very mellow.

    Allman Brothers — Blue Sky

When I used to be a regular at the Tuesday-Thursday Annandale Speedworks (also known as Wakey), it was heavy metal in the car on the way there.

That’s a “Playin’ hooky on Friday in early summer and riding down the C&O to do some bikepackin'” song if I ever heard one!

My favorite ride soundtrack is the ambient sound of the world around me as I ride. I’ve tried listening to music, via both bluetooth speaker and earbuds, and didn’t like it. Too distracting.

Stuck in my head from Ft. McNair to Eisenhower Ave while bludgeoning my way into a 10kt headwind: The Will Song by The Heartless Bastards.

    “You keep on moving on….”
