I’ve had “What the f$%’d you expect?” by Against all Authority in my head lately.

    Hello Forum,

I’m looking to add some new music to my winter riding soundtrack. Anyone have a song they’ve gotten stuck in their heads during a ride that I should listen to?

    Cheers,
    CT

What kind of stuff are you in to?

I’ve had PUP’s “The Dream is Over” record on heavy rotation lately, particularly the songs “If this tour doesn’t kill you, I will.” It’s Canadian punkish rock with a lot of group vocals.

I also listen to Two Tongues record “Two Tongues” a lot particularly the song “Crawl”.

All of it! Spare no genre.

    Thanks for the recommendations, btw.

If I’m lucky, the kids will sing Katy Perry on the way to school

    Never gonna say goodbye

Horse Soldier! Horse Soldier!, by Corb Lund — it’s a Canadian country concept album.
“I Wanna Be in the Cavalry” can get stuck in your head while riding; almost every song on it is good.

Rick Rolled on the forum! Well played, sir. It’s not enough that my daughter loves that song (meaning I get to hear it all the time), you have successfully lodged this tune into my head for the afternoon!

These tend to recur depending on the conditions (climbing, pacy, long, miserable, angry, ‘laxed). None of it is new, but could be new to some.

The Cramps – All Women Are Bad
    Spacemen 3 – Suicide
The Reverend Horton Heat – 400 Bucks, Baddest of the Bad, Big Red Rocket of Love
    Jawbox – Jackpot Plus
Sugar – Explode and Make Up
Husker Du – Dead Set on Destruction
    Pegboy – Strong Reaction
Flogging Molly – The Devil’s Dance Floor
    AC/DC – It’s a Long Way to the Top
    Sabbath – Die Young
Jethro Tull – To Cry You a Song
Warren Zevon – Play It All Night Long

    Huskerdont.

The Minutemen’s Double Nickels On the Dime has a whole bunch of short frenetic songs that are good for hammering.

If you want to pretend like you’re the teenage version of me hanging out in dank St. Louis venues, I recommend the following records:

The Urge – Receiving the Gift of Flavor (Rock with a slight funk edge)
NIL8 – Doug (Some good Springfield, IL Punk Rock)
MU330 – Chumps on Parade (3rd Wave Ska Punk)
Fragile Porcelain Mice – All This Baggage and Frostbidding (Post hardcore)

Judd, I know you love Double Nickels. It’s great, but the only songs that ever come into my head from the Minutemen are History Lesson Pt. II, and The Anchor (from What Makes a Man Start Fires). None of them ever seem to come up during rides, don’t know why.

Thanks for the inputs so far! I’m always on the lookout for new stuff and these’ll be a great start.

I’ve also found a lot of stuff that I like from Pandora and Spotify radio.
