    So, were you wearing makeup?

No, “it turned out that all the gnats that hit my eyeballs, got caught, and died, were falling out of my eyelashes.” This appeared to wife to look like makeup.

Yesterday I had a conference in Herndon so was commuting to and from using the W&OD. On my way home in the evening I noticed a lot of bug hitting me in the face.

When I got home, showered, and was winding down for the night, my wife asked me if I was wearing makeup. She was convinced I had eyeliner or mascara flaking off. I looked in the mirror and it turned out that all the gnats that hit my eyeballs, got caught, and died, were falling out of my eyelashes.

    Neat huh?

Hey! Stop eating/eyeballing my ride-home protein- I ride through there slack-jawed just for a little bit of oomph before the Hunter Mill climb.

Nasty little buggers have been coating my arms/legs for the last few weeks. Yuck.

Back to the plague… anyone have a cough that just won’t go away! ARGH! Been coughing for 3 weeks. I’m not sick, but the residual cough is killing me.

That happened to me after my last cold. I had to give up dairy to make it go away. This time of year might be mold allergy? :P

I understand from a now deceased aunt of mine that there is prescription cough medicine with codeine in it that will make any cough go away. She found this out because she had emphysema so bad she would break ribs while coughing (don’t smoke kiddies!). This medicine made the cough go away; unfortunately I don’t recall the name of it. Unfortunately the codeine makes you very sleeping so it’s really only good for night time for normal people.

I’ve also found Ricola honey herbal drops to be quite useful. If you have postnasal drip, ipratropium bromide nasal spray (available only by prescription) works great at clearing it up without side effects (I use it all the time for allergies).

The family has been fighting this too. One Word: Netty Pot! Does wonders.

My wife is a PA and she said the codeine stuff works… but I don’t want to have to go to the doctor to get a prescription. Such a pain!

Netty pot or Afrin is a good idea… she said that too. I’m just lazy and haven’t gone to the store yet.

    Time to ride home now!

I noticed all the nats are gone now. I hear a flock of cardinals ate them all.
