Maybe I’ll just look into peoples eyes at the end of year happy hour, and the largest, most circular eye will win the prize.
Contest over. Eric Williams.

Alan, I have a few questions:
1. Are you still offering a Pointless Prize to the BAFSer with the biggest circle?
2. What are the rules? Obviously “biggest circle”/fastest average, but are there are conditions, such as minimum miles logged (e.g., 1,000km)?
3. Can the winner opt to not have you stare into their eyes at the closing happy hour? Please see the original post. I ended up changing my challenge (based upon Bentbike33’s comment). I never realized that the circle was just average speed. I always thought it was some formula based upon speed/distance/elevation. Obviously, if I just wanted to make it on avg. speed, I wouldn’t have wasted the effort to make things more difficult.
Just go out a ride a route that looks sort of like a circle. The longest ride will win. If you want to do it really fast, and have the highest avg., go for it, but it won’t mean anything.
lol, and who knows about #3. Maybe as I walk around the room during that final happy hour, someone’s eyes will just say “give me a prize”. You just never know.

ParticipantAnd here is one of my rides that I did, that wouldn’t quite make it as a circle, but is sort of close-ish. Just to give you an idea of what I’ll consider a circle. I don’t want people to waste too much time on planning out a perfect circle. I’d rather people just go out and ride their bikes.

Oh well. That contest went over quite well. What is your six-pack of choice, Rod? lol, I’ll make sure I make them extra heavy for your ride back home after the happy hour. Unless Eric W. can manage a circular route longer, it looks like you have this one won. Or unless some cutie happens to post a ride a bit closer to a circle.
And I guess we’ll have to wait for the possible “eye” portion of the contest until the final happy hour.
*Edit* Ooops, didn’t realize that it wasn’t a real ride and only generated by ride with GPS. However, if anyone does this ride, I’m pretty sure you all will have to fight it out for that extra .1 mile to win the prize. That’s a pretty amazing circular route.
You almost got me, Rod!

ParticipantI think the leader in this competition is David Helms. I cut my ride short, went home on the MBT instead of the ART as planned. It was really late. David started and finished in Silver Spring and ended up with 5 more miles than me.
