The Family Mikey Fourth Annual Car Free Vacation, 8/23/2013

We made it to Lockhouse 6. We left of 9, got to the W&Or in Vienna as the rain started to fall. We lost a bolt that held the tagalong rack to my bike, but we improvised. We had lunch at the French cafe in east falls church, Cote D’Or, and a quick stop at Tri 360 for a spare bolt, thanks guys for saving us! We hit Georgetown by 2:30, where we made a stop at Dean &Deluca for some goodies. We finally reached the Lockhouse by 3:30.

I rode the Capital Crescent yesterday and I think I was in Georgetown around the same time you were. I knew you were coming through that area and was watching for you guys! Glad that you made it and that Tri360 could help you out!

p.s. Just googled Lockhouse 6. That looks like a really cool place for a family vacation!

We are now in Shirlington, about 12 miles in, 19 to go. Eating a nice hearty lunch at Cap City. We will be getting back on the trail in about 30 min.

I had just finished lunch at Cap City with a different group of cycling friends (including Vicegrip and his awesome cyclist daughter), not having seen the posts just above, when I was surprised to see someone who looked like Mike and then to spot the whole Essig family in a corner booth. It must have been just after that last post. It was so great to see all of you! I had fun being the caboose for awhile on the Mikey train.

Home! Just before 6pm. Fed the kids 25 bucks of fro-yo, ordered a pizza, and now enjoying a nice IPA.
