Just throwing out a silver lining here: despite ceding a little OPSEC and physical security if you nab a KOM/QOM at one of those sites odds are you’ll keep the crown for a long time.

Strava privacy settings make it easy to figure out where you live.

Where you live, or any other location for which you have a privacy zone set up for – assuming you approach it from a few different directions. Yay, math! (I think there are easier ways to figure out where I live rather than trying to overlay what Strava displays for my rides and drawing circles of varying sizes…)

Yeah, we have been through this in another thread. The easy answer is just not to make your house the center of the privacy circle.

I wanted to make stravangulate poc project concept a few years ago. I haven’t followed link above, but by now I am sure many people have beat me to it.

If you set the privacy zone somewhere where the circle encompasses your house, but your house is not at the very center of it, it should work better?

Depending how rural your home/location, offsetting the circle still may not do much if for degrading the CEP if yours is the only house/compound in the area or a terrain overlay shows your house is the only reasonable option.

Or if you own your house and your Strava username is similar to your legal name.

Strava flybys are now off by default. Just noticed this tonight. I liked this feature and was never hugely worried about the privacy implications but I suppose it’s open to various forms of abuse.

Despite the “creep factor” I looked at Flybys occasionally and have turned mine back on.
More on the demise of Flybys here. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2020/10/strava-flyby-turns-feature.html
