I agree, the product picture only confirmed the image already in my mind from the name. I think I’ll stay away from this little snack.

So, the lady’s line would be: “Is that a Schokokuss in your donut, or are you just happy to see me?”

Astro Doughnuts with kwarkentien, 8 minutes before closing time. I got the apple cheesecake…it was delicious!

Nothing particularly unusual or amazing, but I did get this apple fritter at Starbucks yesterday. It was apple-y, and it was fritter-y.

Expand your doughneuring pallette by infiltrating the Bollard Busters beignet prelude to happy hour tomorrow evening (Thursday, Feb 2), 5:15 at Bayou Bakery.

You know… I grew up in the Midwest. I’m perfectly happy with a Dunkin’ Doughnut on occasion. I don’t normally go for filled doughnuts, but there’s just something enjoyable about heart-shaped doughnuts. Raspberry filled chocolate frosted doughnut? Yum. What was even better? (I asked nicely.) They were kind enough to let me bring my bicycle inside since I didn’t have a lock!

Looks like everyone is getting a sweet start to Valentine’s Day! Also hit Dunkin Donuts to try their heart shaped donuts. My coworkers were concerned for my health and helped me eat them. Tried a pink heart with I think a vanilla or banana creme and a chocolate coated heart with a raspberry filling. Didn’t have quick enough fingers to try the last one but I think was a just regular donut with a chocolate coating. I liked the pink one.

    Doughneurers!

We are a month into this doughnut reindeer game and not one of you has submitted a BACON Doughnut!
The Where’s the Bacon challenge starts now and will last until I replace it with my next inspiration.
Keep looking for Groundhog Day Doughnuts, it is tomorrow, after all, but Bacon Doughnuts are the new black this week.
Look at he lovely maple bacon long john; classic rings of Man Bait; maple glazed; oodles of bacon; and everyone’s fad favorite, Red Velvet Bacon cake doughnut.

So today I went on a doughneuring tour! I was on a quest for bacon doughnuts and ground hog doughnuts of course. Only one of the three places had bacon doughnuts, and none of them had ground hog doughnuts. Hopefully the fact that I found a doughnut in Maryland, Virginia, AND DC gets me brownie points anyway. ;)

First, 202 Doughnuts in Bethesda, MD – connected to Bold Bites. This was my second favorite doughnut of the day. The cinnamon frosting on the outside was amazing, I loved the chocolate chips on the inside, but the frosting on the inside was sooooo sweet. Still a delicious doughnut, and the sugar high made the downhill trip on the CCT all the most enjoyable. ;)

Second, District Doughnuts in Georgetown. I had been to the one in the Washington Navy Yard, but not this location. Bacon – success! This one was also frosted with Nutella. As far as bacon doughnuts go… not a bad combination. It was my third favorite doughnut of the day.

Third, as the shadows were getting longer and the sun was getting lower in the sky, I hightailed my way down to Sugar Shack in Alexandria, VA (remember that sugar rush?). Here, I had my favorite doughnut of the day – lemon elder flower. Umm… yummy!!! Anyone who likes the elder flower drink from IKEA will appreciate this uniquely flavored doughnut. I immediately decided to buy a couple extra, and returned back home for the day.

A friend at work was seriously envious when I told him I was heading over to Bayou Bakery to have their beignets.
Man, they were good! Accompanied by my Bollard Buster teammates, CBGAnimal & rachelwright (plus FFG), we loved ’em. I took a couple to happy hour, where kwark & another Bollard Buster, pierre, joined us and gobbled them down.
    yum yum!!

Secstate and I went to the Groundog Day Festival in Dupont circle yesterday. The prognosis from our very own Potomac Phil is that there will be six more weeks of winter and political gridlock. We tried hunting for groundhog donuts but to no avail. Instead settled on the chocolate with hazelnut creme from Krispy Kreme. It also had some nuts sprinkled on top which Phil would probably like. Very good, particularly if you like Nutella!

    Doughneurers!

Great weekend to seek out Bacon Doughnuts! Doughnuts with Bacon sprinkles, or Bacon encrusted doughnuts are looking tasty!

Recognizing that some of you may not be into this bacon trend for all kinds of reasons, I offer the non-bacon veggie alternative: pumpkin doughnuts, or Matcha Tea doughnuts, or even onion rings might get you Doughneuring points with your description of their tastiness. Go forth, eat doughnuts! e
