ParticipantDoughneuring 2: Normally I have cookies on my ride in every morning but this morning it was all doughnuts. I bought a chocolate cake doughnut and a sprinkled doughnut from An Uncommon Cafe. I’m not sure where these doughnuts come from, but they were warm and tasted fresh.

ParticipantI didn’t get here until after normal morning-doughnut time, but there was still a very nice selection and my maple nut donut tasted fresh and awesome! It was a very nice balance between the maple glaze, nut, and dough flavors. I want to go back and try others. This is one of the only bakeries that I know of in College Park/Beltsville, MD. #fs17doughneuring

ParticipantWelcome today to District Doughnut, where one can have a wonderfully sugary brown butter sugar doughnut. The perfect combination of sweet, soft, and buttery.
I enjoyed it, just as much as I enjoyed the paint scheme.

ParticipantSomeone left this box of custard donuts on the table in our kitchenette at work. Since I bike to work, I figure this counts.
It was very yummy, particularly the creamy custard inside. And it looks like it came all the way from Beaver Falls, PA. Is that worth extra?

ParticipantI seem to recall that Kouign Ammans would count – so here is mine, from The Board and Brew in College Park. I love this delicacy. It was nicely warmed and paired well with my tea. My favorite variety – pistachio.

ParticipantDoughneuring day 2: Vigilante coffee. A crisp honey pistachio Koing Amman – delicious, not too sweet and just perfect with an espresso for my breakfast dessert. I’m gonna get fat doing this challenge

ParticipantFS Doughneurers!
This week ONLY
The standing rules apply, but you acquire a Trump- or Patriotic-themed doughnut. Photo is required. Submissions accepted now until January 22d. Seeker’s hint: Astro Doughnuts is known for such themed creations, locations on G Street NW, and Falls Church–BUT they have not developed one yet, no Trump on their menu today, but their doughnuts are amazing!
Happy Doughneuring! eJanuary 14, 2017 at 10:48 pm #1063914Judd
ParticipantI stopped at Dunkin Donuts in Pentagon City today near the start of my ride cause I had neglected to eat lunch. I got a Boston Kreme and a Chocolate Cake. On a scale of gross to delicious they were “meh”.
I later stopped at the Jefferson Memorial and found this inscription in the monument: “We hold these truths to be self evident that all Dunkin Donuts are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable ingredients, that among these are flour, sugar and the pursuit of flabbiness. “
That Jefferson was a visionary.

ParticipantNot sure what I’m supposed to do to claim my “points” but here’s my multi challenge entry doughneuring/coffeeneuring/sockneuring with bonus inaugural-themed donut.
Ok, believe it or not, donut was from Dunkin’ Donuts on Elm Street in Bethesda. Had white cream filling. Pretty tasty. I’d have one again.

ParticipantOkay.. so I went to Astro Doughnuts this morning for the first time in the hope of finding a patriotic doughnut… no dice. I asked if they could pipe on “USA” but they couldn’t. Ah well… surely the effort of finding a new place and using my bungee cord netting to share these doughnuts with other BAFSers counts as something?
The doughnut that I chose to consume was the pineapple upside-down doughnut. You know, I’m sure that one could choose to interpret the fruity dark-yellow as Trump’s hair… Whatever you think, the doughnut was abso-smurfly delicious. I like this place better than District doughnuts. The caramelized pineapple topping, the fluffiness of the yeast doughnut.. Mmm…

ParticipantSugar Shack, the original, in Alexandria.

Blueberry cheesecake something. Tasted like a donut with frosting. I am not sure I am cut out for this gourmet donut thing. C’est la vie. Stopped on the way back from a health care rally. Should have eaten the donut ironically.

ParticipantDoes it count if Millie brought the doughnuts? The Apple cheesecake doughnut was amazing – a cross between Apple pie , cheese danish, and a doughnut (duh). Went great with my latte!
