Hey forum friends! My friend Gordon (one of the co-founders of Croatan Buck-Fifty) has masterminded another event that is sure to be amazing and super fun.

The format is going to be a bit different, as you will need a partner. The thought is that the beautiful gravel roads of Floyd County, VA are best shared with a friend! The race will be run in a duo format, which means that you and your chosen partner start together, ride/race together, and finish together. Races like that are super fun (many big MTB stage races offer duo categories) since you share the entire experience with someone else. Three mileage options with routes that will leave you breathless in their beauty. Oh, and camping is free, but there are other options at the venue for those that might want a bit less rustic experience.

Check it out and I hope to see you all there! Registration opens Thursday at noon!

Thank you all for posting these questions and answers! It was very helpful for me to read through, and got me thinking about my gear system and the best ratios for protecting my newly repaired knee…a collateral result of your thread. Muchas gracias!

    *sigh*

The Journey is cancelled in case anyone missed the email from Gordon.

While I am sad that these events are being cancelled, it does warm my heart that race directors are doing the right thing to try and keep their communities safe.

Good to know you heard back!

Still waiting to hear about the Bootlegger 100, which would be the weekend after down in Lenoir, NC. No refunds on cancellations so they should be sending stuff out soon. I have a bit of time before my airbnb needs to be cancelled so I haven’t reached out yet, but yeah.

Pretty sure you should just cancel the airbnb. I can’t see any large events being held over the next month or two, at least responsibly.
