ParticipantWhile I applaud the good samaritan for doing this the fact that the county allows them to stay there is jaw dropping. Can you imagine the ruckus if these were in a roadway?

ParticipantClearly we need Angle Grinder Man to redirect his focus.

ParticipantThe Collards are now gone; patched with asphalt. Perhaps the county needed them spray painted bright orange so they knew where they were.

Hey now. Collards are delicious. I don’t want anyone besmirching their name with this bollard business.

Some of us were trying to explain to a young coworker why one might keep bacon grease in one’s fridge. He thought that was disgusting. We pronounced him Clearly Not Southern. (This was after we’d tried explaining go-go & Ben’s Chili Bowl.)
Mmm collards.

My son was asking what that jar of grey stuff was at the back of the fridge. After I told him, he also wanted to know why. Not for collard greens in our house, we have a great recipe for Irish soda bread that uses bacon grease, and that’s all I’m saying.

Man that sounds good. I miss soda bread. Stupid wheat allergy.
I like how I always stay on topic in threads. Also turtles.

ParticipantHere are pics of the collar fix at the N. Emerson Street crossing of the Bluemont Junction trail:

They appear to have removed the collars and filled in the holes with asphalt. They are now flush with the rest of the trail.
Also to note: they also removed the collars at the N. Kensington Street crossing in similar fashion.

ParticipantVery cool. I hope they’ll get to the one on the Four Mile Run trail just off Walter Reed Drive soon! It was still there beckoning someone to run into it yesterday. Many thanks to one of our BAC members for at least marking it with some spray paint.

ParticipantNoticed this AM they also did the same to the N Van Buren/W&OD collars. Yay!

ParticipantSeems like a whole bunch of “collards” disappeared in the last few days. Thanks.
