I flatted yesterday on the way home from a couple of Hains Point laps. I just wanted to say thanks again to the two riders that helped me out after I blew up my only spare tube, and exhausted my Co2 cartridge.
Rider assist #1 – thanks for sparing a tube.
Rider assist #2 – thanks for pumping me up with your hand pump – I noticed your water bottle had a Bike Arlington logo on it, so I figured you might be on here.

lessons learned: carrry more than one spare tube, and pick up a small hand pump.

The takeaway message is that we are all in this together so if you can lend a hand, please do so.

It was no problem to lend assistance with the pump. I’d guess that the CO2 inflators resolve the issue the vast majority of the time. In my experience, if you are stay on the heavily traveled bike routes someone will come by with a pump, Most riders seem quite willing to lend a hand so get a pump only if you really feel you need it.

Please join in the dialogue on the forum. Always a good time.

Kudos Dana for helping out! You’re a model citizen and thanks for making us look good!

Thanks but you clearly overstate my contributions as a “model citizen”. The elements (road debris, weather, etc) are a common enemy and we are stronger as a community. We all do our part.

Dana, you do your part and carry the slack of all those scofflaws out there (looking at you, Dickie). We all appreciate it. Thank you.
