ParticipantThanks, Rod! I’ll put on my thinking (drinking?) cap and work on name ideas. In the meantime, I’ll add myself to the strava team.

ParticipantGreat! it was nice to meet you at the party and Audrey and Ken. Everyone on our team is a newby to this online community except Ken and me. Welcome! I think you’ll like it here. Nice smart people. Passionate about bikes, some real hardcore riders. It was a contest like this one that led to me joining the forum a few years ago.

ParticipantHey team! It was grand to meet some of you on Friday. And thanks Rod for being our captain on this heroic journey… Clearly, we got this. Hope to meet everyone else in the coming weeks.
Ok and now it’s time for me to eat a bagel and then get some miles in today.
Thinking of sun-themed team names in the meantime…

ParticipantHi all! Just joined the strava club. Looking forward to a good winter full of riding! Will try to brainstorm some names in the meantime too

ParticipantHi Erin! Welcome to our awesome team! You also need to join the BikeArlington’s Strava club http://www.strava.com/clubs/bikearlington and authorize Freezing Saddles access to your data http://freezingsaddles.com/authorize before you will show up on the leaderboard and your points added to our total.

ParticipantActually, no need to join BikeArlington Strava club now that we have real team clubs. The BA club was used to get everyone on to the leaderboard before we had the other clubs. Of course, it doesn’t hurt — and is probably a generally good idea!

Hi Erin! Welcome to team 2 – the best team (of course). Hopefully we’ll all be able to meet in person as a team sometime soon. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing your adventures in Strava!

ParticipantHere’s a stream-of-consciousness list of ideas for a team name…it doesn’t necessarily have to involve the use of “two” or “sun”, right? Although that certainly gives us somewhere to start with for ideas…
Here’s what I came up, although I’m pretty bad at this sort of thing, so no pressure to pick any of these: Two for the Snow (i.e. one for the money, two for the show), Winter is Coming, Wheel Friends, Ride Like the Winded, Abominable Cyclists, It’s (Not) Always Sunny in DC, Oh Snow You Didn’t!…if I can manage to come up with any more, I’ll post again later.

ParticipantHey everyone! Glad to be joining the team, but sorry to say that I’m heading out of town on a business trip this week so I’ll be off to a slow start. I’ll see if I can flag down a cyclist in Pittsburgh and borrow their bike for a little while…
Edited: Pittsburgh has bike share! I’m in.

ParticipantOh hey! Pittsburgh has bikeshare. Sweet.
January 12, 2015 at 11:42 pm #1019942Rod Smith
ParticipantAwesome! Is bikeshare something you would use on a business trip otherwise or has Freezing Saddles inspired you to try that?

ParticipantI had similar concerns about a February work trip to Phoenix that I have (yes, I know…life is tough), but it looks like they also have a bike share program – awesome!

ParticipantHi Rod, I think I set the registration up, but let me know if there’s anything else I need to do. Thanks!

I like Abominable Cyclists! I know it doesn’t have the sun in it, but it’s got a lovely ironic ring to it.
Or, Abominable Snowcyclists?

ParticipantAlso, Rod’s observation on our strava team page about the makeup of our team made me think of another one… Two Sons, Lotta Ladies!
