Hope you had a great time in New York. Don’t worry about missing a day. In fact, you might try going for a week next time. The good ol’ Bollard Busters are doing just fine. And rumor has it the team 6 Bears are busy riding their stationary bikes, which count for a big z-e-r-o. So you’ve nothin’ to worry about … just chill and be happy and enjoy those trips to the Big Apple.

Today is one of 3-4 days during FS I am unable to ride due to a monthly trip to New York. Sorry. Back on the bike tomorrow.

I lied. My train rolled into Union Station at 11:35 PM. With a CaBi fob burning a hole in my pocket and FS Syndrome microbes invading my adrenal gland, I grabbed a bike from the Union Station dock and took a late-night sleaze ride. It was remarkably pleasant actually. No wind at all and quiet streets.

Most excellent! When in doubt, sleaze!

Congrats! We just passed the BiPolar Bears to move back into 8th place. Congrats to Komorebi who logged legit miles while in Atlanta. Nice work!

Looks like Powerful Pete got in some good miles with ccfinger, too.

    Hey all,
Some of the other teams are getting together after work for informal get togethers. Seems like a fun idea.

Reply and let me know what days of the week are good and what days of the week are bad.
Alternatively, we could meet at one of the weekly Coffee Clubs.

I am certainly up for a Friday CC – the one in DC is just a hop, skip and freewheel from my office.

As to after work events, I can do most evenings as long as I can plan ahead of time (1-2 days ahead)… Maybe mid-week with a few Hains Points laps thrown in to make it just a wee bit masochistic?

And on a single-speed rental cruiser that looked like something my grandma would have ridden, no less. It was pretty comical.

In all seriousness, seeing the lack of bike facilities in Atlanta made me realize just how good we have it here in DC.

Great idea, Steve. I’m in the same boat as Powerful Pete — I could make it to the original FCC or on most evenings, with sufficient advance notice.

Since my commute is opposite (I think) of everyone else’s (I go from Falls Church to Tysons), it would be a little tricky for me. I can get to TMCC (Vienna), but a boy has trumpet practice at 7:30 on Thursdays, which just messes up the time. I could try Wednesday in Shirlington, but it’s still early to get up and late to get to work. Friday at Java Shack is doable, but the boy has full band practice on Friday mornings.

TL; DR – make it an after-work happy hour, in Virginia, on a Thursday, I’m more likely to be able to make it.

I’m good for any night but Thursdays and FCC at Java Shack is always good if I can get out of bed early enough.

Approved. I volunteer as trash-talk giver-outer and alcohol recipient.

I’m lucky in that I live and work in Arlington, so Java Shack or Shirlington would work best for me. As for outside meet ups, my schedule is pretty unpredictable and changes week to week so a couple of days notice will help me to participate. Maybe the Arlington Loop or Hains Point for a group outing?? I’m game.

    Hi team,

I’m usually at Java Shack on Fridays, but this Friday (Jan 30) I can make it down to Swings. I realize this works for some but not others, but if you are a sometimes FCCer or FCC virgin and work in DC, come this Friday, and at least a few of us Busters can meet up.

Then next Friday (Feb 7) I’ll be back at FCCII, which I think can work for toonces, PP, me and kdugan with rockford as a maybe. Everyone welcome at either or both (except phatboing).

I’ll also think about an after work meet up which is better for Rockford–especially Thursdays.

PP – is ccfinger following this thread? Don’t want him to miss out. Tell him to log in at least every couple of days to keep up with goings on.

BTW – we were given a new team member, windy roads, but I don’t think he is paying attention. I have PMed him and put a comment on his Strava feed, but have heard nothing back.

Lastly, we keep battling it out with those annoying Bears, so try to do at least a sleaze ride every day.
