ParticipantSteve, don’t get too excited about my mileage, I have a lot of indoor training miles that I didn’t mark for BAFS since I didn’t know if I was going to be on a team.
I need to go back and reclassify them as #NoBAFS. Not to worry, I’ll make up for it.

Komorebi, I’d be up for Embassy sweeps and/or a potential ride on Monday afternoon
Sounds great. Want to meet at 1:00 pm on Monday in front of the Australian embassy (1601 Mass Ave. NW) and go from there? I might also try to do some Hains Points laps before or after — or both! — if anyone wants to get some more miles in.
Also, not all of the countries in the Australia and Oceania group have embassies in DC. If anyone knows of places where there are mass flag displays — travel agencies, visa offices, international student centers, etc — please PM me. I know of a couple, but I’ll refrain from posting them here in case those dastardly other teams are trying to steal our ideas.

That kind of thing never happens on this forum, I assure you. Nothing but fair play and plain dealing here. Really. Trust me.

Don’t forget this rule:
2) Photos can only be used once to represent one country. Photos of mass UN-style flag displays (hall of nations, Org of American States, etc) can only represent one nation and cannot be reposted for other nations.
Parsing this rule carefully might allow for a bunch of photos taken in one location, but I think that would violate the spirit of the game.

You’re damn right it would.

Right, which is why I was soliciting team input on other mass flag displays. Personally, I’d be game for a field trip to the UN plaza in New York, but that seems like a long way to go to capture just one flag.

ParticipantBut Komorebi, just think of the miles=points that we would garner with a ride like that…

Looks like I have a conflict on Monday
but next weekend I am free and clear. I will however try and check out some local Brit places that might have flags around.

I work for a tiny company and we actually don’t know what our official holidays are. So I probably am working at least some of Monday. I’ll come at lunchtime to meetcha and at least chip in on the first couple photos. Then depending on my timing I may have to head back out.

ParticipantIf you look carefully at the standings you will note that we are currently in 8th place with 1,490 miles. 9th, 10th and 11th place actually have more miles but fewer points. Hence the value of getting a ride in every day–even if it’s short. Well done, teammates.

ParticipantIndeed. Sleaze and consistency will win the race!

No worries, kdugan! Unfortunately, I’ll be in Atlanta next weekend, so any flag capturing for me that weekend will have to be solo. But I’m sure that we’ll find a time to ride together soon.

It looks like we’ll need at least four people to steal Australia, Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, or New Zealand. Anybody else want in on the embassy fun?

ParticipantHi team,
We’ve dropped to 9th place and the BiPolar Bears are hot on our heels. Today is one of 3-4 days during FS I am unable to ride due to a monthly trip to New York. Sorry. Back on the bike tomorrow.
