Team captains should be making the teams. You just have to 1) ride and 2) thank your captain for their service

Seems like there may have been a mix up with Team 9 – Alyssa, aproudfoot, got the captain’s email last night but the post has me as captain. Are we co-captaining or? Someone else is forwarding me the email captains got, so its no biggie, but just wanted to clarify.

@devin-reed, what I posted was the list I got from the teams people. However, it looks like aproudfoot volunteered to be a team captain and you did not, so she is in fact the team captain. I’ll edit my original post.

As to your specific question, team captains create the Strava clubs.

I’m planning on activating the teams on the Freezing Saddles site at Noon EST tomorrow.

I’ll be opening up a Zoom call at 11 AM Saturday and will work on Freezing Saddles stuff from 11 to 1 PM, including:

1. Getting the 2025 competition teams fielded on the site
2. helping folks get development environments set up who drop by
3. working on active issues from our backlog, probably including some of the library upgrade and infrastructure as code issues

• I really have no idea what I’m doing – only that I was desperately trying to get to bed by 3 am only to see these emails hiding in my updates and then a lot of cutting and pasting of individual email addresses. Now it’s 8:15!

We have teams live on the site! However, we’re still missing the team IDs for teams 2, 3, 18, and 20. If the team captains for those teams could post a forum thread with a link to their Strava teams we will amend it.

Folks won’t show up on the leaderboards now unless:

1. We can identify the team ID and have added it to the site
2. They have joined the competition team

Checking to see if there is an opening to move up from BAFS to an actual team!

I was on vacation for the first 2 weeks (Egypt, checked, but unable to find a Bike to rent there), and so because I had 0 miles when teams were made, I got dropped. I’m back in the saddle though, and hoping there is an opening to get on a team!

Anyway, wanted to check now, because IIRC there were 240 participants announced on teams, but when I look at the People stats page, there are only 237 people. Hoping I can grab one of what seems to be 3 open slots?
