ParticipantDear teammates, sorry not able to make happy hour but exciting to ride with everyone in any place:D since I am living at MO Maryland but working at Virginia.
Due to the long commute work, most of my rides happened at weekends. I also got lower back pain since last year so I will try to avoid make it worse. I did put this information in my register form so hopefully Sunyata notice it and assigned me properly. Of course I will do my best to help team for everything.
Looking forward to meet all you.

ParticipantCheers everyone! I know a few of you and am looking forward to meeting everyone else! My weekday riding is mostly commuting, but I look forward to plenty of weekend socializing and miles. Just need to tag onto Eric W.’s rides…. If I can survive them!

Hi David, don’t forget to sign up for strava club at: https://www.strava.com/clubs/250636
With a nagging injury, best thing you can do for team is make sure you get out for a one-mile ride every day. Those “sleaze” rides (or “neighborhood rides” as I like to say) really add up the points because you get a bonus for just getting out. Don’t overdo it on weekends trying to get big miles if it hurts! We need 100% participation every day more important than huge rides!
EDIT: Ah, sorry, I see now that you’ve joined. Thanks!

ParticipantHi again — as you sign up for the Strava club, I’ve taken the liberty of making everybody on the team an “admin” in case there’s need to police the club (throw off a non-team member who joins) or otherwise change the pictures, add a team name etc.
We’ll sort of use the Borg collective consciousness approach with no supreme leader and all drones created equal and see how it works. (It you don’t get that Star Trek reference, then it’s sort of like inter-galactic communism.)

ParticipantI am Locutus of Borg
Edit: Team name suggestion – Unimatrix zero-seven

ParticipantA bit obscure, and perhaps not representative of our ecumenical, friendly manner though, even if it correctly describes our operating style.

ParticipantThanks for organizing, Jeff!
I’m very committed to weekday riding, since it’s my fastest commute option downtown from Silver Spring. This is my first attempt at riding through the winter, and the cold hasn’t got me down (thanks to Bar Mitts) yet.
I’m haven’t been too eager to ride on weekends, though, since I’m pretty biked out from the 16-mile daily roundtrip slog.

ParticipantGlad to make it on the team, I’m new to the forum, although it’s nice to have Jeff as a familiar name-face.
I’m mostly for weekend rides, although I’m going to try more occasional weekday commutes from New Carrollton – DC
I feel I may have to apologize for a failed sleaze ride opportunity last Monday, my Strava app did not record when I went out AKA I had dumb fingers that day.Um, how about “The Refrigerant Seven” for team name?

ParticipantAs far as a team name, there are 11 of us, so why not team 7-11? We can fill our bottle racks with Slurpees.

ParticipantI likey refrigerant seven as team name!
Make it so!
If there’s better name we can always change later

ParticipantOoooh 7-11 is good too! Let’s see if we actually get 11 on board though

ParticipantConcerns about 7-11: not BAFS related and might cause confusion with team 11.
MagnifICEnt Seven
Natural Seven (craps term) – not BAFS related but won’t be confused with a different teamJanuary 12, 2017 at 1:44 am #1063455JonRobot
Participantafter an extraordinarily busy day at work (combined with a day of unsuccessfully attempting to fix my computer) i’m finally here and on the strava club. during the week i’m usually consistent about biking to and from work every day (though some days i have to leave the bike at the office and just take it home the next day). weekends i try to get at least one slightly longer ride in, though i haven’t been too good about that. barring anything major and unfortunate happening, i shouldn’t be missing a day though, which is the most important thing.
i’m going to withhold any team-name suggestions until i think of something exceptionally clever. so that could take a while.
