ParticipantNow we have a team! Some of you have already joined the Strava club, the rest of you should do that ASAP.

I must obligatorily suggest our team be named “Bollard Busters.” There is no better name, after all.

Except all the other possible names.

ParticipantKurt started a thread for the team name in Strava… so check it out the options there.
(Steve O – you can throw your suggestion into the options as well!)January 14, 2019 at 3:53 am #1094026Steve O
ParticipantI know some of you, but not all, so I will introduce myself.
Steve O is what bike peeps call me. There is another Steve, the Goody-Goody Steve, and probably some other Steves, too. But I’m the one on your team, and hence the best one.
I’ve been involved in Freezing Saddles from the very first year, and I love it. I especially like how it brings new people together around the joy of bicycling.
I’ve been bike commuting since the 90s and I use my bike to go almost everywhere (I no longer own a car). I recently got a new job in DC, so I now commute in and out from near the East Falls Church metro. I usually attend 2-3 coffee clubs each week. I really enjoy social rides of any kind, and I hope to meet those of you I haven’t yet on one soon.January 14, 2019 at 1:41 pm #1094039ltierstein
ParticipantHi,
I’m Leslie T. Hmm, ltierstein might be my forum name. Gotta do some standardization.I have already won a pointless prize, for London Bridge — car vs bike incident caused me to fall down. I’m recovering.
I had hoped to be back on the bike this week, but I think I will delay it for another week (sorry, team), since
(1) The plastic surgeon recommended it. (Saw him for a follow-up visit on Saturday. He said I could ride if I didn’t smash my face into anything. Easier promised than guaranteed.)
(2) There’s snow on the ground, and my bruised rib cage/chest wall hurts too much for me to set up the bike with the studded tires and get it outside.
(3) I’m waiting for the delivery of my new helmet. I had picked out a nice MIPS helmet a few weeks ago and was gonna wait until the spring to order it. Oh well.
Anyhow, hope to see people on the road … or at some of the coffee clubs … hopefully next week.January 14, 2019 at 2:11 pm #1094043jrenaut
ParticipantUgh, sorry to hear about the crash and glad it wasn’t worse. Heal up quickly!

ParticipantThat sucks! Get well soon fellow Team 4 member

ParticipantHi, Steve and Leslie, Thanks for posting up intros!
I’m Jo (JoM) on the forum… this is my second year in BAFS. My husband, Ricky (drevil) talked me into doing it last year. It’ll be fun he said. Meanwhile, if you remember, it was sub-freezing temps for most of January 2018! I typically mountain bike, but we ride around College Park for errands, etc. and occasionally commute to work.
Looking forward to meeting all the team members, unfortunately, the pics from the HH didn’t come out, since the lighting was bad. We’ll have to plan a team ride soon!

And you’re still married! Chapeau!

ParticipantIt looks like Rachel R still needs to get her authorization or something fixed. Our leaderboard only shows 9 players, but our Strava club shows her rides.

ParticipantI’ve talked to Rachel, we’ll take care of it

ParticipantHey team,
We may be a bit lower in the overall standings right now, but check this out

ParticipantPretty quiet on this thread.
Looks like we could move up to 13th if we keep it up. I am particularly excited about this, since Boomer is on the Snotcycles.I am also really proud of this. The only Hains Point laps I do during FS are at the FSLNHPP. And that’s how it ought to be.
Who was our 1 teammate who ruined our perfect record?
