ParticipantWe got in some laps today and yesterday. I’m going to pick up the laps as I have no excuse living so close!

ParticipantTeam 3 – You are proving quite worthy adversaries of Team 13 for the title of 2016 Hains Point champions. In an effort to keep our friends close and our enemies closer, I am proposing a joint Team 3 and Team 13 happy hour on Thursday. I can guarantee at least my attendance.

Great plan Judd! You go distract them while I go to Hains pt Thursday night a ride laps!

ParticipantThe forecast has rain and snow for this evening through early Wednesday morning… maybe 1-3 inches total accumulation. Most of the snow will melt as the temperature will start off in the low 40’s and not drop below freezing until Wednesday. Not the worst scenario for biking, but wet and slushy Tuesday won’t much fun so break out the rain kit. After Wednesday, it will turn markedly colder and windy, with highs near 32F and lows in the teens, so bundle-up and please be on the lookout for black ice. Guess that’s why they call this thing “Freezing Saddles”. Have a safe week!

Hi Judd! I think a joint team 3/13 happy hour is a great idea! Only people with 3 in their team name are allowed to attend. However, I can’t make it this Thursday (lame, I know). Unless anyone else on the team weighs in, it sounds like team 13 was planning to do another hh on Thursday next week. I’ll be in California for vacation (where I will still be riding every day, of course), but hopefully the rest of the gang organizes something. Team 3 should definitely join in if a hh can come together for next week!

I should be able to make a Thursday HH in DC or VA. Where are you thinking?

Sticking with the fine Team 3 tradition of going to a brewpub, I will be going to Gordon Biersch (900 F St NW, Washington, DC 20004) on Thursday, February 11th at 6 p.m. for the first crack at a Team 3/13 joint happy hour. My intention is to sit in the bar area. I’ll be the tall guy in bike gear that looks like a lumberjack. I’ll be inviting all of Team 13, but I’m not sure who will come out. Please also feel free to invite any other friends of the 3/13 alliance, that may have the misfortune of being on an inferior BAFS team.
Hope to see you guys tomorrow,

ParticipantHey folks, great job out there. We are really making the most of the daily rides. I did some quick math and we are ahead of all the teams in front of us in average points per mile ridden at 1.775. Way to go!

Definitely, Ed, we are hanging tough. If we keep doing our best to bank days and miles, we can be a top 5 team, which is a big deal in this competition.

ParticipantAt this hour 12:44 am we have moved into 7th place!

Tougher competition than the National Bike Challenge. A lot tougher.

ParticipantHey there team 3! I’ll be back in DC tomorrow, and I’m planning to drive to Hains Point to run a few laps and then ride a few laps. I’ll probably be riding around 12:30 or 1pm if anyone wants to join me. I’ll be on my blue and white tri bike Trek tri bike!
