ParticipantHaving suggested team names the last two years, I am reluctant, but some things suggest themselves. Blackjack? Team of the Century?

ParticipantGreen Day has an album called 21st Century Breakdown, but that does not seem like a good name of cycling team.

ParticipantYeah, I stink at coming up with team names, too. I’ve been trying to combine blackjack with something icy or snowy, and I keep failing miserably.

ParticipantHi all! Thanks for organizing. I have been busy lately, but will try to engage more.
What about “White Walkers” from Game of Thrones?

After all my “winter is coming” strava ride titles, I could hardly object
Looks like QOTM will be heading to the distant northlands on Monday, so I will be up for a group ride (patience with me, I have never been fast, and am a bit out of shape after not riding for a week) I note a couple of y’all are from PWC. Would Forge or Fair Winds Brewery make a destination to ride to (or from) on the Cross County Trail? I will be car free that day, so will likely ride the whole way via either Kingstowne or via the CCT from Annandale. Or we could do a ride closer to me, such as the Arlington loop (which tends to work for riders of different levels)

I am up for a group ride on Monday. The Arlington loop is very convenient for me since I live Arlington, but can travel to a close vecinity.

ParticipantHey guys, sorry I missed the happy hour. Plumbing emergency.
I’m down for a group ride, wherever works. My girlfriend is headed out of town for two weeks so I’ve got tons of time to ride. Wooo team 21!

ParticipantOkay, I will suggest an Arlington Loop ride. With a meeting point at MP 0.0 – which means parking close by, for those who will drive to the ride- and convenient locations for lunch or beer after, if folks want. So a start time of 10AM on Monday. Though if anyone has other ideas that would be great, just trying to get things started.
Also, in that spirit, since we did not all get to meet at Happy Hour, we can use this thread for introductions. My name is Ken, I live in NW Alexandria (across the street from Fairlington) I have been riding to work in DC anywhere from one to three days a week for over two years. I am currently riding a 10 year old Cannondale Road Warrior hybrid (long story).

We will set a ride for Monday, I need to push the start time to 10:30 though. I will post on Strava as well.

ParticipantHigh Rollers? Thigh rollers? We hit on 17? I’ve got precious little to go with blackjack.
Alternatives: More like Twenty-FUN. 21 Fun salute. 21 means old enough to party. (Lucky) Twenty-Spun.
The only one I’ve come up with that I thought was reasonable was “Plucky 21”. You know, if we think we’re particularly plucky. Other than that, we can ignore the number, and just go with something generic like “Why aren’t tacos a breakfast food?” I dunno, I’m spitballing here.

ParticipantOh, also, I’m Erik. My girlfriend and I live in Anacostia near Fort Circle park. I commute 7.5 miles one way to Dupont Circle 5 days a week (unless there are plumbing emergencies). Because I’m competitive, I guess I’ll be riding on the weekends again. I’m just getting back into cycling after taking two years off, though, so I’m not very fast or in shape any more. Here’s hoping for some positive gains this year!
P.S. Where is M.P.? I’m not the most Arlington savvy. My head-map of Arlington just says,”Thar be dragons and brown flip flops.”

Thanks for posting, the beginning of the WOD is in Shirlington, near Shirlington Rd and South 4 mile run. I usually park in the Harris Teeter parking garage in Shirlington Village.

ParticipantIntroducing myself. My name is Steve and a second year BAFS rider from Lake Ridge (Prince William Co). I do not commute- I work in DC so all my miles are after work and on weekends. I often ride in DC or Arlington, but PW Co has some nice routes. I’m an old grey hair Clydesdale (220lbs +) only fast downhill, gravity challenged up hill.
