Team, just wanted to provide an update on our composition and roles. I communicated with Ashby (aka Marie Josephine) and we agreed that I would take on the role of team captain. She has a lot going on currently and so I offered to take the admin off her back. Also, she has been riding but is using a non-connected GPS device. She will log her miles as soon as she’s able. Per Chuxtr, I have booted the non-FS2020 members (sorry dudes) of the Eastside River Riders and made the club invite-only. Now it’s just the eight of us.
I think the first order of business is to reach consensus on the primary means of communication. I know some people use the Strava posts and some are on the Bike Arlington Forum. I personally find Strava easier because 1) I get an email notification of posts, and 2) it’s a little cleaner than the forums since it’s just the eight of us. Open to ideas. I’ll post this on both Strava and the Forum.
Please shoot me any ideas/suggestions to make communication easy, and our experience more fun. As Ashby pointed out to me, we’re spread out all over the region so group events may be tricky. If we can all meet up sometime, or just a few of us, I think that’s fine. I ask that any/all of us take it upon ourselves to set something up if a cool idea strikes you. We’re doing pretty well in the standings (despite my own sorta weak contribution), so maybe we’ll win the $75k prize this year.
Looking forward to your responses and suggestions. See you out there!! Ken
Thanks Ken!
Given that I can hardly ever find anything I want on the forum (I was actually looking for the Calvin Ball thread which seems to appear and disappear routinely) and found this instead, I’d prefer meeting on Strava. Unless someone really understands these sites and wants to teach us all about them. I’m even struggling with the Freezing Saddles website and can’t figure out if Hains Point is a pointless prize this year. Do you know?

If there’s a thread, e.g., Calvinball, you want to stay up to date on, you can subscribe to it. Ditto for your team thread. At the top of the thread to to THREAD TOOLS and select SUBSCRIBE TO THIS THREAD from the drop down menu.

The list of Pointless Prizes is here: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?15581-Pointless-Prize-Thread
Hains Point is not currently a PP for 2020. Anyone can offer a Pointless Prize, so if you want to award it, go for it.January 24, 2020 at 3:17 pm #1103668historygeek
ParticipantI prefer Strava conversations, but am happy to do either (the difference being that I check Strava on my phone).
