I’m Chris and am an “emeritus” BAFS participant since I am currently outside of the DMV area (Frankfurt am Main, Germany). This will be my 5th BAFS and I was the overall points leader for the first BFAS and on the winning team for the second. I retired just before the beginning of last year’s BAFS and followed my wife first to Kyiv, Ukraine and now to Frankfurt. Without my daily commute I’ve actually been riding fewer winter miles, but have managed to only miss one riding day in previous four BAFS follies and will try to get out everyday this year as well. It doesn’t look like I’ll be back in the DMV before April, but I would be happy to lead a Doughneuring and Cafecatting ride in the Taunus Mountains if anyone want to come for a visit.

Hi! I’m Andrew! I live in Petworth (intersection of Georgia and Quebec) and am a graduate student at University of Maryland. I participated in BAFS last year but our team was not very active and I got sick half way through and gave up. This year my goal is to build a little community with my team and not get sick! Also I am using Freezing Saddles to train for a 5 week work trip later this year in Europe where I plan to exclusively travel by bike. I look forward to meeting everyone!

Ignore Bogdan from Kyiv on our Strava team. He seems to join every club on Strava and I never did meet him in person last year.

Hi teammates! I’m really excited to be underway with BAFS2017! I live in Woodley Park and work near the white house off of 17th street. I’m an electrical engineer at an architecture/engineering firm.

This is my third year participating in BAFS, and I’ve really enjoyed both the motivation to get out and ride through the winter and also all of the awesome DC cyclists that I’ve gotten to know through the happy hours and challenges! Last year, I managed to ride every day of the competition, so I’m going to do my best to do the same this year. I love road cycling and have also raced cyclocross the past two seasons. I also enjoy triathlons and did my first Ironman in 2016. Interesting fact – our teammate ToastToYost is a good friend of mine who also did the Ironman with me in August. While I love long bike rides, staying warm in cold weather is always a challenge for me, but I’ll try to make the most of any warm days that we end up getting.

Oh, and for the team name, I laughed out load at 2Fast, 2Frozen, so that gets my vote. In terms of communication, I participate in the forum during BAFS and email would also be good for me. We’ll also have to come up with some ways for Chris to virtually join us for any team challenges or rides that we do!

Alright everyone, I’m exercising executive Team Captain authority and naming our team 2Fast, 2Frozen. Mostly because, much like Sara, it makes me laugh — and if you can’t laugh while biking in a -1 degree wind chill, what CAN you do, really?
