    Hi Team 14!

My name is Casey and I also like beer, pie, and bike rides. So I second the motion that we go ride bikes to beer and pie. :D

I am also a daily commuter and am on a 700+ day riding streak (my 800th day is coming up on March 9th, we should go for a bike ride to celebrate!). I also do a lot of mountain biking and gravel rides on the weekends.

Unfortunately, my work schedule is rather hectic these days, so I may not put in many extra miles during the week, but will make up for it on the weekends.

So bummed to have missed you all last night – I was the idiot who rode out to the party and forgot my bike lock. DOH! I’m a bike commuter, recovered triathlete, wannabe CX racer, and roadie. Looking forward to meeting you all – let me know when the next bike ride to drink beer is. I’m always in for that! 😮

All right Team 14, you’re stuck with me as your captain. For folks I haven’t met, this is my third year playing Freezing Saddles and my second year as a team captain. I’m a bike commuter and I’m on a 600+ day riding streak (partially inspired by fellow team mate Sunyata). I also started bike touring last year and have some awesome trips planned this year. I’m a huge WABA supporter and advocate for trails and bikes as much as possible. I love beer and pie. We should probably go for a bike ride and drink beer and eat pie. I was fortunate enough to captain the winning team last year. We were a very social team last year and did a lot group riding and happy hours. I hope the team is as social this year. Tell us a little about yourself.

The Strava Club is up here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/335190

Please go to the club and request to join.

We also need a sweet team name. Any suggestions?

    My name is Rimas.

This is my second year playing BAFS. I was fortunate enough to have ridden with some of the freezing saddles peeps on a Pedals and Pints ride a couple of years ago and now they have me doing this. My goal initially was to commute by bike more than by car but FS has a way of getting you out and on trails that I didn’t even know existed or felt comfortable riding. Yep beer and pie will keep me riding strong. Looking forward to meeting everyone and going for a ride.

Hi, my name is Pie. I mean Charles.

I’m also a daily (well, Monday to Thursday, I telework Fridays) commuter. My responsibilities at home tend to keep me in on the weekends, but I’m in negotiations to come out for some Saturday team rides. Especially if they involve pie. I love pie. Maybe our team name should somehow invoke thoughts of pie. I’ll ponder on it.

    See you all out there.

Hi all. I’m Trey. I’m a daily commuter from Del Ray to Georgetown. This is my 4th year riding Freezing Saddles. I will eat more than my fair share of pie during FS. I will always be up for a coffee/pie ride.

It looks like we’ve got 8 of 11 team members signed up for the Strava group at https://www.strava.com/clubs/335190 These folks are accounted for:

    barbielwc – Andrea
    Dazed Elf Singers – Charles
    Judd – That’s me!
    Rimas – Rimas
    smb9600 – Samantha
    SNoser – Sara
    sunyata – Casey
    trey197 – Trey

These folks are missing in action:
    Ababy
    likeklocwork
    Raychelgee

I forgot to grab the sheet with folks real names to track them down on Strava. Casey – If you’ve got the list of real names and e-mails and PM it to me, I’ll try tracking them down.

    Some team name ideas:
    Piecycles
    Beers and Gears
    3.14
Team 14: Sponsored by Acme Pie (this is just a cheap ploy to try to get some free pie out of Sol)
    Hand Pie

Proof of our pie eating prowess from last year’s Wednesday Night Spins:

Judd those are great ideas. How about a mashup: Team 3.14 – Sponsored by Acme Pie.

We could also go with Powered by instead of Sponsored by if we wanted to seem less suck-uppy, but I’m all in for free pie. (It’ll also make the other teams crazy jealous to think we’ve somehow scored a sponsorship)

    Powered by or fueled by.

Another idea: Pierates of the Potomac

I like any and all pie themed names. But I am definitely partial to “Powered by Acme Pie”. 😎

    Pieonneurs

Instead of a boring team coffee ride we could hold a team pie brevet.

The Pieonneurs always give low pies to Ian Fingerman when we see him on the trail.
