Please feel free to use this thread on the Forum to communicate, suggest rides, ask questions, etc…also see private strava club by the same name with a link to it below.I’m not all that good at technology so please feel free to suggest or take up any cool features that we could use as a team.
Allow me to follow you and other team members so we can encourage and kudo each other’s rides.
Once you have followed me, I can invite you to join our Strava Club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/Team12FreezingDozenIf we wish we can change our team name and picture, but I wanted to get started!

Speaking of being bad at technology, I’m out on the trails and recently I’ve been having a really tough time findingthe Calvin Ball posts. I just don’t see them anymore. Any suggestions? I’ll try a search.

I usually find them in my Tapatalk app under subscriptions! I don’t think anyone has gone to DC to get it after it was hidden yesterday!

ParticipantHey, all. I am Christy Regenhardt. I live in Hyattsville, MD and commute to the Palisades in DC four days a week. This is my fourth BAFS (in five years– I skipped one), and I’m looking forward to forcing myself to ride in miserable weather yet again this year! I’m hoping to do 7 days/100 miles every week (my commute covers the mileage), which should be easy so long as I don’t get sick or injured (or if there’s a blizzard– one of these years I’ll finally break down and buy studded tires). I’m happy to go for longer rides (with a preference for trails or city roads), and also happy to drag people up to my neck of the woods (especially great if you’re a beer/mead/gin/coffee lover– Vigilante Coffee, Franklin’s Brewery, Streetcar 82 Brewery, Maryland Meadworks, and Sangfroid Distillery are all within a mile of each other and are bike-trail adjacent). I live right on the Anacostia trail system, so spend as much time as possible wandering there.
And “history geek” is because I’m a historian. I work at GWU (we have a little campus behind Georgetown) at the Eleanor Roosevelt Papers Project.
Also, this morning I apparently really like parenthetical statements. I blame my frozen brain.January 11, 2019 at 4:09 pm #1093731whunke
ParticipantI’m Billy Hunke and this is my third year doing Freezing Saddles (last year I was a slacker since I was recovering from arm surgery so I didn’t do much riding). I’m looking forward to getting back in the swing of things and will try and do as close to the 100 miles a week as I can. My wife and I are expecting our first kid (a girl) in mid-February, so I might drop off for a few days, but otherwise plan to still get out and ride! I live in Shirlington, which I believe is not too far from our fearless leader and team captain, but I am down for any type of group rides in just about any location – road, gravel, mtb, coffee, beer, distillery, mountains, sleaze.

ParticipantHi Christy
Thanks for posting! Hoping all Team 12 will follow!
I’m Chris, designated team captain. I’ve been a FS participant for 4 years and love the community! I live in Falls Church although it’s so close to South Arlington that I ride there the most! My claim to fame is riding consecutively for 1700 days as of a week ago…
Always interested in group rides and as many coffee clubs I can manage (my 16 year old keeps me grounded)
Looking forward to meeting you all in person. I will post a few HH or Coffee meetups soon! Or feel free to suggest!
Follow me on Strava as soon as you can (Chris Watson) and I’ll add you to our Team Strava club!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ParticipantCongratulations, Billy! And WOW Chris! That’s a lot of consecutive days! I inevitably lose days to travel every year, so can’t brag about consistency. If you all live in Virginia, how hard would a HH be in the city? I do sometimes bike to Clarendon (perfect on weeknights since I’m already on the Potomac), too.

ParticipantHowdy everyone. Glad to be part of the “freezing dozen” I’m Todd Thompson. This is my second year of BAFS. I was on the Titanium Geraniums (team 22) last year. I commute from Vienna to Ballston 3 or 4 times a week but will try to get out every day even if not commuting. I should be good for my 100 mile team max every week. I spend too much time riding the WOD but it’s hard to beat the convenience and safety of it. I would definitely like to connect with some of you for group rides. Very impressed by some of your stats – especially Chris’ 1700 day streak. Wow!

ParticipantHola todos, my name is Hugo Diaz and this is my first year of BAFS and my second year living in VA. I am a graduate student at GMU currently living at Ballston-Virginia Square. I come from the tropics and I find it fascinating (and honestly a little scary) all this riding in winter. I commute a couple of times a week to the Fairfax campus, and I enjoy getting to know the DMV, so I’ ll do my best to put in the miles and join any social rides. I have a two-year-old at home and a wife so I do have to ask for permission, as you can imagine. That being said my schedule is pretty flexible. Looking forward to meet and learn from you guys, go dozen!

This is what happens when people don’t buy me beers at HH.

ParticipantHi Chris – Looking at the master list, I am on your team :o. Unfortunately, I do not show up on the leader board (and neither do you). I smell a conspiracy…or maybe that’s the nachos in the over. Anyway, I was on the leader board before the team assignments but not now.
Are you setting up a list of e-mails so we can do group rides/HHs or do you plan on doing it through the forum?
Pierre
