Woohoo! Thanks for creating the Strava group, Judd!

It was great to meet almost all of you at Happy Hour last night.

    As for names…

Interesting facts about the number ten:

The Korean alphabet has 10 vowels
The $10 bill is known as the “sawbuck”
The traditional 10th anniversary gift is tin (really?)
The atomic number of neon is 10
There are 10 lords-a-leaping in the 12 days of Christmas
Pythagoras and his followers considered 10 the most sacred number (1+2+3+4=10)
There are 10 acres in a square furlong
Although often misused as a synonym for destroy, the correct meaning of the verb “to decimate” is “to reduce by a 10th”

I’d be down with a team name of “Sawbucks” or similar. Anything with math is cool too.

BTW, for those that don’t know me, I’m Nick. I didn’t make the happy hour last night, but I am up for team happy hours, especially if they are in Falls Church or Shirlington. I commute from Falls Church to the Mount Vernon area and go on beerneuring or gravel rides on the weekends. Sometimes, I’ll make it to a coffee club but usually just the one in Vienna on Thursdays.

So team happy hour this week? too soon? Next week?

How about something involving the word TENacious for our team name? But I like math, too. I’m Elaine, and I met several of you last night. I live in Fairfax, south of GMU, and I commute into Fairfax city (4 miles) about twice a week. My schedule means I have to drive the rest of the time. I like beerneuring, but I work every other Saturday so might miss some weekend events.

I’m Matt, stoked to be on this awesome team!

I live in Franconia/Kingstowne area of Alexandria and commute to Clifton, VA daily. Love riding bikes of every kind and discipline but especially love gravel. I’m always down for team rides and Happy Hours.

Hey! We already have an infiltrator?! Who invited this guy to our team?! :p
But, I mean… keep up with that mileage and we will totally let you stay!

Of course Ian wants to be on the winning team. I know someone in charge of team assignments if we decide he’s a keeper.

It’s only fair to balance out the teams. Right now we only have 5 riders in the Top 30.

It was great to see so many teammates at yesterday’s happy hour, and I look forward to meeting everyone else soon.

Team TENacious has a nice ring to it. But I’m also on board with all of the other suggestions so far.

I just bought a gravel bike a few months ago — from FIX_BKS and the good folks at Bikenetic, of course! — and would love to hear about your favorite gravel routes.

My work schedule means that I’ll be exceedingly late to any weekday team HHs, but I’m happy to do weekend beerneuring or doughneuring rides any time.

I kind of like Team Tenacious. But I also like…. THE DECIMATORS!!!!!!! We will destroy all other teams (by reducing them by 1/10th.)

Would Tenacious Decimators be the best of both worlds or simply too close to Tenacious D?

THIS. SO much this. I hereby nominate Team Tenacious Decimators as our name.

Meanwhile, I will just keep singing “That’s F&#%ing Teamwork!” to myself over here… 😎
