Hi I’m Pete, and I like to ride my bike every day. This is my second year of FS. Most of my riding is commuting, often towing a 6-year old to school in a Weehoo on the way to work. I also have a 9-month old, but hope to participate in group rides when I can. I recognize Judd and Steve O from DRT events, but I don’t think I’ve actually met either of you or the other team members in person. Looking forward to it!

Hi, I’m Pablo. This is my first FS. I do mostly road rides now, but I love MTB and gravel riding. I’m looking forward to some freezing fun this year!!

Way to go, everyone. Looks like we’re all in the Strava club now.

As way of introduction, I’m Steve O, your “captain.” I’ve been involved in Freezing Saddles from the very beginning and look forward to the reindeer games every year.
I ride my bike everywhere, as I do not own a car. Most of my riding is either transportation or social/recreational, although some people claim they saw me on a cyclocross track once or twice.
I very much enjoy bringing people into our fun community of cyclists, and I look forward to meeting those of you I don’t already know in the near future.

Hi Steve O! Hi Judd! I’m Billy and this is my 4th time doing FS. Like Pete, I have a little one (11 month old daughter), so I have to work in my riding around her, but I’ll still get out as much as I can and try and join some group/social rides. I am mostly on my road bike, but have a gravel and mtb as well. I moved from Arlington to Ashburn last June, but it’s not a problem to get into and around the DC area to join up for some rides.

    Hi everyone!

I’m Judd. This is my 5th Freezing Saddles. I was captain of the winning team in 2017 and 5th overall on the individual leaderboard. I’m nearing a 4 year streak of riding a bike every single day but my miles were way down the past two years due to a nagging injury.

I just started bike commuting regularly again. I also bike a lot for transportation, do bike tours and race a few times a year. I enjoy silly themed rides with friends or just meeting up for coffee.

I’m heavily involved in bike advocacy as a board member for WABA, Alexandria BPAC member and co-founder of the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail.

Glad to see Billy and Steve O on the team, both of whom are friends because of Freezing Saddles. Good to meet Pablo last night and hoping to meet EasyRider and everyone else in person soon.

Freezing Saddles 2020 Bollard Busters team thread (team 10)

    Hi Steve,

I’m introducing myself. I’m Lynn S. on the leaderboardThis, and LynnScho on login. This is my first time doing Freezing Saddles. I look forward to meeting the team.

I believe I signed in appropriately to show up on the team. If I haven’t, will you let me know? I’ve been biking like crazy, and want it to count!

    Lynn

If you’re off on Monday a group of folks will be at Lazy Mike’s Delicatessen to drink coffee and eat pancakes. Will get there around 9:30. There’s usually a big group that hangs out for a while. Hope to see Team 10 members there!

And if you want to get up a little earlier, the usual Monday morning coffee club will be meeting at Swing’s on Monroe St. in Alexandria, departing there about 8:30 to go get pancakes at Mike’s.

Coffee, then some FS miles, then pancakes. What better way to spend your holiday?

    Hi team,

As of the time of this posting, we were #1 on the points leaderboard. Nicely done!
Team 26, though, seems to be leading in the “most fun forum thread” category.

It would be fun to organize a team get-together. Looks like 5 of us are in S. Arlington, 1 in N. Arlington, 1 near Gallows & the beltway and one in W. Virginia or something :)

So someplace in Shirlington (New District?), along Columbia Pike or Rte 50 might be possibilities. Open to suggestions.

Also, we could agree to meet at the Best Buns Shirlington Hump Day Coffee Club and do a team commute one Wednesday morning.
    Cheers, and keep riding!

    I’ll be there, too!
Early birds get there around 7. I’m usually a little later than that. Then roll for DC around 8ish.
