That’s just like…your opinion, man.

You say opinion, I say objective statement of fact…

ParticipantMy bullhorns are beautiful. They are the most beautiful bullhorns in the world. Everywhere I go, people are talking about my bigly beautiful bullhorns. And they help me climb. Not that I need help. I am one of the best climbers out there, as everyone says.
But yeah, they wouldn’t look good on some bikes, and sometimes aesthetics are more important than function.

Now I know how I can spot you on the trail. You’re the one fixed rider that doesn’t look miserable coming up the Custis.

ParticipantI have my right lever attached to nothing; definitely prefer it to having no lever on a hood.
I like bullhorns too but agree depends on the bike. Riser bars are okay too – maybe.

That was just trumpy-me. Real me suffers and doubtless looks ungainly, although the bike’s current ratio/gear inches are about perfect for the Custis.

If you see me on the fixie going up the Custis at anything resembling a good speed, it’s because the adrenaline from the M Street Death Race hasn’t yet worn off.

ParticipantBullhorns are definitely good if you do a lot of climbing. If you aren’t good at climbing then just go without handlebars until you are.

ParticipantI’m impressed!
Are your shoes warm enough for this time of the year? What brand and model are they?
Also could you kindly tell me what model the Garmin is?
Thanks a ton
Bob

ParticipantShoes are Giro Rumble. They absolutely are not warm enough for this time of year. They are the most comfortable-to-walk-in bike shoes I’ve ever worn, by a long shot.
The Garmin is a 510. I’ve been pretty happy with it. I used turn by turn directions once and they were very difficult to use – I keep meaning to try again.

I love those shoes, too. I just got the DZR Mechanic for Christmas, which, like jr’s, are casual looking and comfie, so you can wear them when you get off your bike with your regular clothes. But in cooler weather like today I use toe covers with them, which look dorky.
