SW DC <-> Hidden Oaks Nature Center

I’m trying to analyze the difficulty of getting to Hidden Oaks Nature Center for weekday evening event(s) from SW DC. I like the Holmes Run Trail, but as I only ride it about once every 6 months, it can be annoying to recall or re-look up all the twists and turns. Also, there’s the after-dark thing, which is probably prohibited. I’ve done it in the dark but did not feel comfortable.

Google suggests Annandale and Hummer from Falls Church. I recall that Annandale has a bike lane, but have only ridden as far as Roundtree. And I haven’t ridden it after dark. Is this a decent option?

That’s my daily route. Annandale and Hummer are both fine, though the pavement on Hummer is currently crap.

Looks like new pavement and bike lanes coming to Hummer are later this year courtesy of VDOT and Fairfax County DOT.
