ParticipantThe Chaise Lounge race is the Michigan Coast to Coast – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1Iw9vVrJxk. FF to 2:05
If heat is a problem for you, then this may be a race to do instead.
EDIT: And thanks to Sunyata’s race report I learned that the Chaise appears at many events, including DK! I wonder why the Michigan race seems to have better lounge advertising?

Yep… I am featured at the starting line. Bikenetic kit, white helmet, Source hipster hydration pack. Judd’s link above takes you right to the spot in the video (1:34). I feel kind of famous.
Also:
Race Report – Part One
Race Report – Part TwoThey are kind of long and wordy, and probably full of grammatical errors. 😮
Too bad they didn’t send Emma Pooley out there for it. She is super awesome and dreamy.

I’m still a little sad that Matthew Stephens left

Me too. Matt was my favorite.

ParticipantSame! Seems like such a genuine guy. (I commented on his ‘gram post about it and he liked my reply too.)
His commentary is apparently good too but yeah, I miss him on GCN. Barely watched it since he left actually.

I love your race reports, though reading this has made me reconsider wanting to do DK200.
(I think I will enter lottery for next year, though heat is my real Achilles heel, so it is probably going to be an extra tough ride for me.)
Even with the wind and gut issues, it was still an amazing adventure. I highly recommend everyone do it at least once. The community in Emporia, Madison, and Eureka (plus the surrounding farms) is just absolutely the most welcoming and supportive that I have ever encountered in a bike event. Plus, for like two weeks after the event, you can eat whatever you want, guilt free. (<- really the only reason I do these stupid long races!)

I do that after every ride.

Eat *and* drink too, maybe.
I have yet to have a beer immediately after DK. Last year I wanted one, but we finished too late to get one (Kansas has weird alcohol laws and we failed to procure beer for post-race enjoyment). This year… well, Dane had one ready for me, but my stomach issues put a stop to that. 😡
