We use an API key for Strava that is unique and only used for Freezing Saddles, not shared with any other apps.

This was a hood read, especially the link to the venture capital behind Strava. I’m a paying member of Strava but the premium features are a bit weak. I went premium for the personal heatmaps.

One feature that I think would get more people to sign up would be the ability to initiate a private conversation with a mutual follower. It would help foster friendships with folks that you meet on a ride and end up being Strava friends with but otherwise don’t have contact info for.

I never really understood why Strava gave away so much in the free version. I think they would better thinning out the free version more and making a lite version at say $2/month with most the current free features and keeping the premium staying where it is.
