ParticipantA little drawing from MLK weekend. I have a dream… that everyone will go on a coffee ride.

ParticipantIt’s been a little slow in the old art department so far. I am reupping this with a reminder that entries in this particular pointless prize close Feb 28. For inspiration, check out last year’s thread: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?11412-Strava-art-pointless-prize

ParticipantHere’s my Del Ray dragonfly, https://www.strava.com/activities/1407965741:
My ride title:
Dragonflies make me think of summer days,
lazing by the creek, soaking up rays.
Wings shimmering,
water glimmering,
and the air thick with a golden haze. This was mostly a warm-up ride. I’ve got a couple more art rides planned, schedule and weather permitting.

ParticipantButterfly, https://www.strava.com/activities/1411790801. My Garmin appears to have been drunk this morning, but hopefully the lines are clear enough that you can see the drawing anyway:
My ride title:
On this sunny but cold winter’s day
I wish I could fly far away.
Some butterflies migrate,
travel far then congregate,
but this one’s in D.C. to stay.February 18, 2018 at 1:11 am #1084192Allan C
ParticipantA better fly / a flutter fly / a butterfly

Don’t worry, I’m working my way up the food chain. Here’s my fish, https://www.strava.com/activities/1414123194:
My ride title:
There’s something fishy in this place,
and it’s not the market ‘neath the Bridge Case.
Just keep swimming
and also spinning
and see how these streets interlace.I nearly got smushed twice while doing this ride, first by a panda bus and then by a ridiculous muscle car. However, this was offset by two good things. First, I found a hidden pedestrian tunnel under 695 that I otherwise wouldn’t have known about. Second, when my saddlebag fell off while I was going through an intersection, the driver behind me saw this and stopped so that I could retrieve it, despite furious honking from the driver behind him/her.
