Stolen Bicycle

Hello —

My brother-in-law’s bicycle was stolen this weekend at 11th & Kenyon, NW.

It’s a black Cannondale touring bike. He “motorized” it himself.

Black motor by the rear hub, back rack, one side folding basket and black fenders. It has a grey plastic battery box that says ‘Currie’.

If he can send a photo, I’ll post it later.

It’s not everyday you see a bike like this — a conventional bicycle that had a motor added — so if any of you see this bike in your travels, please call your local police and you can message me, too. Thanks very much!

The wooden box has been replaced by the gray plastic battery box described above.

Man, that stinks. So sorry to hear about his misfortune. I hope his homeowners/renters insurance covers the cost of a replacement.

Do you know how the bike was locked up? Did the thieves break a U-lock?

I have this second hand, but I think he had a cable lock on it.
