On the evening of Sept 14, thieves broke into my very locked shed on Capitol Hill and stole my bike which was locked inside – my beloved Jamis Commuter 3. It is blue with brown leather seat and handlebar covers. It has (had) a wooden rack on the back and is a size 14.5. It looks like this:

The bike is registered with the NBR and the serial number is U9YK18841. Thanks for any leads or help!

So sorry to hear that! I’m sure lots of us here will keep an eye out for it. It won’t help you right now, but I want to mention the National Bike Registry http://www.nationalbikeregistry.com. Lots of the PDs use it when they find stolen bikes. I just got my certificate in the mail yesterday. It isn’t unusual for them to find lots of stolen bikes in one location. In the meantime, condolences. I’m so sorry that happened to you, and hope it turns up and that the thieves get caught.

So sorry to hear that! But good for you for registering with NBR (http://www.nationalbikeregistry.com). I’m sure lots of us here will keep an eye out for it. (This replaces a deleted post in which I brought up NBR, having read the previous post too quickly and at a ridiculous hour of the morning. My hair trigger reaction is to mention it when I see anything about a stolen bike.). My condolences – I hope your bike gets found and the thieves caught!
