So… I’ve had this urge to stickerfy my hybrid that I converted to a SS. Should I be fighting it? I had stickers on my first LBS-bought bike in the 90s (a rigid Diamondback).
Pretty sure there is a velominati rule about this, but this isn’t a road bike, it’s a commuter. And I have all these bike related stickers collected over time I want to use somewhere. Some of them may even qualify as decals.
Yay or nay?
My kids would approve, they put stickers on everything.

Rule #57.
I especially love my “Can your treadmill get you to work?”; “I bike because I’m awesome”; and my “Burn carbs not carbon” stickers on my commuter. I also have the Sandy Hook 26 on my road bike.

ParticipantI’ve started putting stickers on my Bianchi commuter. First was the I (bike) Arlington one and next will be my zeropergallon sticker. I don’t really approve of stickers on cars, but I kinda like them on utility bikes…makes the bike look well-used and lived in.

ParticipantI’m anti-sticker on cars and bikes, unless done as tastefully as eminva’s mountain bike.

ParticipantKel’s Sticker Rule: Stickers may be applied liberally to mountain and hybrid bikes. Road bikes shall be kept in a pristine and stickerless state, as beausage should be allowed to develop naturally.

ParticipantMy bikes are far too dirty for stickers to actually stick to them. :p

ParticipantI approach stickers like tattoos; if your bike will look like a skank in 20 years resist the temptation.

ParticipantI have two on the flat of my rack:
“One Less Car” – which is only true when I am actually on the bike, and “Fixter” which is true 95% of the time, unless I’m running SS. Because they’re on the load-accepting portion of the rack, they have gotten a bit tattered.I also have a Maryland Park Bicycles sticker where the head badge should go. John asked if he could put his sticker on it, since he built it up and ordered half the parts, and I offered him the head tube and/or seat tube near the bottom bracket.
Also, I have adhesive reflective tape from an ill-conceived attempt at being “noticeable”. While not exactly a sticker, it has the same deleterious effect (or worse) on the aesthetic value of the bicycle.
I like the bike shop sticker, because we should all support our local brick and mortar stores, but wish the rest of the bike was a clean machine.

ParticipantI had a red Fuji hybrid that I bought when I was a commuter. I LOVED covering that thing with stickers. Stickers all over it. And when the stickers get stale, put another sticker on!
I just gave that bike frame to Phoenix (it, well, we, got hit by a car). It broke my heart. But it also totally confused the Phoenix bikes kids, because one of the stickers was a Phoenix Bikes sticker. They thought it was one of their rebuilds coming back to the nest.
As far cars – absolutely. I mean this is a free advertising opportunity to the person behind you. Why not tell them how much you love your dog!! And particularly roof top carriers. Should have a sticker from every adventure you have been on.

Thats why this is the best bumper sticker in the world. It sums all other bumper stickers up in one fell swoop!

Agreed. Rooftop carriers are the new travel trunk – slap those destination stickers on there! I still have to put my Mt. Ranier sticker on mine.

Will provide photo later tonight so you can see what Shawn is talking about.
I used to have a commuter with stickers, but it got stolen. The police officer was very interested in knowing what stickers it had because that would aid in recovery. Despite her claim, the bike was never recovered.
I have a pile of stickers — not sure whether to put them on a rack, on my laptop or on the theoretical cargo bike.
