Quick question – any resolution for a squeaking seat (saddle)?

The saddle on the bike I commute with starts off quiet but usually starts squeaking after a few minutes. It’s nothing horrible, just irritating. It may actually serve as a supplementary pedestrian warning system, as I have seen some pretty odd looks from walkers and runners as I approach. I’ve tried to tighten anything that seems logical, to no avail. This used not to be the case, but has been fairly consistent in the past couple of months.

Any resolution you can suggest other than outright replacement? TIA

Mine just started squeaking today too! Very annoying. I tightened what I could but it appears to be coming from the suspension seatpost. I understand one should oil the seatpost but any advice on the matter would be much appreciated.

unless it’s a high-end seatpost with serviceable components, most suspension seatposts should be considered consumables

On the plus side, you could use it like a bell — just start bouncing when you pass pedestrians.

I’ve found that the seat rail/saddle junction sometimes squeaks. A drop or two of prolink quiets things down.
