Transportation matters are among the top issues in the election, but mostly on topics like the Columbia streetcar. I didn’t even know about the election until yesterday, but I managed to vote today. Only one other person was there, not counting the volunteers, so you probably won’t have to wait in any lines.
The election is for a delegate in the Virginia General Assembly. That’s it. The state government does have some say over street transportation in Arlington, with VDOT collaborating on some projects with federal and county agencies.
In any case, polls are open and there shouldn’t be any long lines today. Similar to the last special election a couple months ago.
