I would love to organize a community wide gear/bike stuff yard sale, but I’m soliciting help organizing such an event. You all are wonderful, smart people with great ideas. I have tons of bike stuff that is too much to of a pain to sell on Craigslist and other stuff I’d be happy to swap or donate. Does this also sound like you? I bet if enough of us cleaned out our bike closets, we would feel some Marie Kondo joy and potentially make a difference. Most of my stuff I’d be happy to sell and have proceeds go to Phoenix bikes or that after school program in Reston that Kelley is a part of. Anyone want to join my planning tiger team?

Yes resemble all your remarks! I can help

FYI in case you didn’t know/recall – there’s an annual “DC Bike Swap + Expo” hosted by Gearin’ Up that’s in mid-May around BTWD (last year’s info is at http://gearinupbicycles.org/2019dcbikeswap/). Slightly different focus from a “who’s there selling stuff” standpoint, but something to keep in mind when planning so as to not conflict.

It might be too late to bring your own stuff to sell, but if you’ve never been, the Stop, Swap, and Save is the biggest bike swap in the area that I’m aware of. It’s in Westminster, MD, and it happens this Sunday (2/9/20).

Thousands of attendees, tens of thousands of bike things you can spend your ducats on!

I’ve been going since the early 00’s, and mostly to see old friends, although I have been known to leave with at least a dozen pairs of socks occasionally.

A bunch of my friends get together to rent tables to sell their stuff. At the moment, it looks like there is still room if you want to team up with others.
