#029: wool argyle socks w/ snow flurries

Argyle is derived from the 17th century tartan of Clan Campbell of Argyll in western Scotland. Such is the origin of the funky kilts and Scottish Highlander socks. My maternal grandmother, Bessie McGregor, immigrated to the US from Scotland in the late 1890s. These socks remind me of her.

These relatively plain black silk socks are surprisingly warm. They kept my feet toasty this morning when it was a brisk 28 degrees.
