So. The moment you have all been waiting for. The details of the Social Butterfly (and subsequent Infiltrator) pointless prizes!

This is a bit more complicated than my other one, so I will break it down to make it as simple as possible.

The premise is pretty simple. Be the person that goes to the most social events related to Freezing Saddles between January 10th and March 19th.

What is a social event, you ask?

    1) A BAFS happy hour (such as the opening happy hour happening on Tuesday) that is publicly posted and open to all participants of BAFS and has a minimum of nine other BAFS attendees (ten total)
    2) A BAFS team specific happy hour planned by members of one team that is either publicly or privately posted and has a minimum of three other BAFS attendees (four total)
    3) A BAFS organized ride of greater than 4.99 miles that is publicly posted and open to all participants of BAFS and has a minimum of nine other BAFS attendees (ten total)
    4) A BAFS team specific ride of greater than 4.99 miles planned by members of one team that is either publicly or privately posted and has a minimum of three other BAFS attendees (four total)
    5) A local shop/coffee/social ride of greater than 4.99 miles planned either by BAFS members or the general cycling community that is publicly posted and has a minimum of five other BAFS attendees (six total)
    6) A coffee club with at least five other BAFS attendees (six total)
    7) Any other bike-related event (for example, Monster Cross or a bike related movie at Arlington Draft House) with at least five other BAFS attendees (six total)

For all non-ride events, photos are required that name (forum user names please) all BAFS participants and describe the type of social event.
For all ride events, photos that name (forum user names please) all BAFS participants and a Strava link are required. Please advise the type of ride (BAFS general, BAFS team, Shop, Coffee, etc).

Photos (and strava ride links) should be posted in this thread. Only one BAFS participant needs to post, everyone that attended will get credit.

Bonus points will be awarded for any event where at least 9 team members participate.

A really awesome prize that is yet to be determined is up for grabs here. Not to mention all the really awesome people that you will get to meet!

A wild Birru appeared, but he was apparently in his own world and didn’t even realize there was a photo op happening. Sorry guys, I guess my super power is never looking at the camera. I have committed this multiple times already.

Even a taster of the new Colossal 6 has this mesmerizing effect.

I used to work in a bike shop there in Shirlington Village called Metropolis Bikes back in ’96-’98 and would bike down from Merryland once in a while. IIRC, it sat where Aroma sits now. We had 3 huge storerooms underneath the other shops in the plaza filled with bikes and parts where some goofin’ off and unsanctioned races occurred :D It eventually went belly up in late ’98 or ’99.

Anyways, good seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones this morning!

Hey! That was my shop for a bit. Had a wrench named Fred iirc.

It’s been 20 years since I’ve seen most of those folks, but you are talking about Fred Rodriguez. One of the other main wrenches, Sam, now works at Spokes on the other side of 395. Tom (the manager) and Mike started Plum Grove Cyclery in Leesburg soon after Metropolis closed. Jacob, who was a teen working at the shop back then, is now one of the managers at Bikenetic.
