In addition to the Social Butterfly, there is the Infiltrator Award.

This is the award for the person who infiltrates the most “Team Specific” events.

What is a “Team Specific” event?

    1) A BAFS team specific happy hour planned by members of one team that is either publicly or privately posted and has a minimum of four members from the posting team
    2) A BAFS team specific ride of greater than 4.99 miles planned by members of one team that is either publicly or privately posted and has a minimum of four members from the posting team
    3) Any other team specific bike-related event that is either publicly or privately posted and has a minimum of four members from the posting team

For all non-ride events, photos are required that name (forum user names please) all BAFS participants, which team organized the event, and describe the type of social event.
For all ride events, photos that name (forum user names please) all BAFS participants, which team organized the event, and a Strava link are required. Please advise the type of ride (BAFS general, BAFS team, Shop, Coffee, etc).

Please indicate that you infiltrated the event. Each individual that infiltrated the event will need to post their own photo (duplicates will not be accepted) if they wish to be counted.

Bonus points if more people from YOUR team show up at the event than those from the organizing team.

Does it count as infiltrating if you have a significant other also doing BAFS and you go to their team event?

YES! And I tried as hard as I could to keep SO’s on different teams, like I did last year, to make this more fun.

So couples, if you do not want your SO to infiltrate your team’s ride… Better be stealthy!

Ah but apparently once again you failed, for once again Shaw Dread (my apparent significant other) is on my team!!!!! If course I think he is just an infiltrator!!! We slackers welcome infiltrators – those slackers who slacked so much they did not bother to register.

Well, dang! Except for going to the opening happy hour, I’m pretty sure my score will be the lowest possible!
I despise coffee (but I do love my Diet Mt. Dew), and I prefer as little interaction with other humans as possible. (Sorry…It’s been a rough year with the election and stuff that I prefer to avoid people if I can).
I know. I’m not the type of people you are looking for, but I like to ride by bike (assuming it’s dry).

Oh yeah. And I don’t like waking up at 4:30 am to do dumb bike stuff!!

I already had one BAFS social event coffee club. Sadly does not count yet since before Jan 10th. Could incentive to go and enjoy coffee and fellowship with my FS friends again…and again.

And yet your becoming a forum social butterfly making multiple posts. That is a start. And you ride with one or more people often. I wouldn’t ride often at 4:30am-ish either if I wasn’t doing it on a trail. Biking in rush hour in the dark and rain is not the best way to make it to the next BAFS social event.

Bob! I hope you didn’t think that 4:30 am statement was geared towards you!! Although, I do know that you are an early bird, but I’ve noticed that a lot of cyclists are out riding when they should be taking a morning pee break!

As a reclusive misanthrope, I’d have to say that I actually the social aspect of BAFS the most and my life is much better because of coffee club.

There are lots of other pointless prizes. Like wearing your swim suit. You might find pursuing that one to be better by yourself than in a group.

That is what darkness, bushes and trees are are for. It also confuses the local fauna.

I thought that was the most BAFS way to get there!

“Reclusive Misanthrope” would be a great team name.

How the heck are we going to make our miles if we let a little dark and rain stop us? Says the person who way too often is leaving the office and biking home after midnight. (Rain not guaranteed, but it doesn’t stop me when it happens.)

I do recommend many lights and reflectors if you do this, however. Personally I’ve got three tail lights, two headlights, 5 wheel lights, a helmet with lights front and back plus turn signals, an ANSI class 2 reflective vest, and numerous reflectors on the bicycle itself.

First entry for the Social Butterfly prize, from CCCC today. From left to right: kwarkentien, Fast Friendly Guy, Bob James, KWL, CBGanimal, and komorebi. And yes, I’m terrible at selfies. Don’t judge.
