Isn’t analyzing data fun? Now think about throwing in heart rate, cadence, and power too!
Which kind of power meter reads negative numbers?

ParticipantThings I pondered on this morning’s commute:
Wow, it’s pretty humid out here. But it’s only 76 degrees! Yay!
I wonder how fast running Strava AND Bikebrain will kill my iPhone battery.
Raising my seat seems to be working out OK.
Man, I gotta figure out where to sit on this seat. I’m always moving.
My left cleat feels farther back than the right one. Maybe that’s why my toes are numb. (Later: Maybe that’s why my foot is cramping ow ow ow.)
This helmet and my head are not the same shape. Need new helmet. Or different head.
I have GOT to get new cycling sunglasses.
Hey, look at all those people in the cars stuck on the GW Parkway by the airport. Hi, people!
Oh cool, I’m kind of keeping up with that guy on the road bike!
Hmm. I think this guy in front of me could use some air in his tire.
Wow, these hills seem easier than usual.
I should stop riding with my mouth open, Now I’m thirsty.
Oops, scrubbed too much speed there.
Hey, if I don’t hunch over my back feels better!
Hi, bridge!
Oh hey, there’s that guy on the road bike again.
Hi, Washington Monument! Hope you feel better soon!
Wow, that guy’s bike is so shiny and bluuuuuue!
That guy said he liked my silly helmet.
Whee, cycletrack!
Um, pedestrians, you might not want to cross against the light. Especially not into the bike lane. Kthxbai!
Aww, do I HAVE to go inside now?July 16, 2012 at 2:30 pm #945871KelOnWheels
ParticipantWe had a nice little peloton going from the airport to 15th & Constitution today
ShawnOfTheDread was there and somebody on one of those purty robin’s egg blue Surly Crosschecks and a couple of other people.
(I got dropped for a bit but I managed to catch up again!)

I definitely wasn’t in that peloton because I felt like there were few people out today. I did notice more folks heading south than usual it seemed. I almost asked if I was missing out on something fun and should turn around.

You must get up early. I think Kel was running late today and I was my usual tardy self, and the crowds were out at about 8:30.

ParticipantI had one of my co-workers (a sometimes cyclist) ask me if there was something special going on today because he saw more people out on bikes than usual. Nothing I can think of, it seemed like pretty much normal Monday morning bike traffic.

I was actually way late and so I was probably 10 minutes behind you guys, maybe more like 15. Mondays usually feel more open to me on the trail. Maybe it’s a mind game.

This morning the forecast was for thunderstorms tomorrow. Now they’re just calling for hot.

Yeah, now they’ve moved the thunderstorms to Wednesday which could ruin getting some riding in before the PPTC Tour de France Happy Hour.

Well that was very inconsiderate of them. They didn’t even check with us first.

ParticipantGot to ride with RestontoDC by the airport for a minute on the way home, before he took off like a blue rocket and disappeared into the sunset
