    It doesn’t hurt to loosen your clipless pedal tension, if you normally keep it tight. Snow covered curves do make the back tire skid, so it is helpful to be able to quickly put your foot out

    Unfortunately my front brake was fine. I let go of it when the front wheel started to push, and I yanked on the rear, perhaps forgetting it wasn’t working. I guess I panicked when the rear brake did nothing (I wasn’t going very fast) and squeezed the front again. These things happen so fast, I don’t really know what happened, just trying to reconstruct from memory. I have hydraulic brakes, I looked at it but I couldn’t see what was wrong. I think fluid may have leaked out of brake line.
