Do you love the Smithsonian? (Because you should!)

One of my fellow Smithsonian cyclists has worked with Castelli Cycling Apparel to design a custom Smithsonian jersey and bib set, featuring the names of every Smithsonian museum and research center. Orders can be placed through a special page on the Castelli website, which will handle payment and shipping directly. The online still will be open ONLY UNTIL FEBRUARY 12, with an expected delivery in April.

You do not have to be a Smithsonian employee to participate–friends, family, former employees, former interns, or anyone else who simply loves the world’s largest museum and research organization can purchase this custom jersey or the set.

As of yesterday, they were short 5-8 items in various categories (both types of jerseys, bib shorts, and women’s regular shorts). There have been at least two orders that I know of since then, so hopefully they’re closer now.

One more update from Greg below. If you want a Coronado jersey, get your order in now.

We’re going to leave the store up for a few more days. We were short of the 10 item minimum on two items, the women’s shorts and the Coronado jersey.

We were not close on the women’s shorts, so we’ll be removing that option and I have made arrangements for refunds with those who already placed an order for the item.

However, we are only 2 items short on the Coronado jersey. So if you were on the fence, now’s the time to get one. If we don’t add 2 more items by the end of the week, I’ll make arrangements with those affected to change or cancel their orders.

Should have trademarked the name as there soon arose the

Saint Mary’s Ultimate Team

and the

Smokey Mountain Ultimate Team

I made the team jersey one year entitled “Frisbee from Hell” featuring Akbar and Jeff

Why play good frisbee when you can huck it?
