    Note, the article does not say there is anything wrong about riding fast, on road bikes, or in bike specific clothing – it is not another attack on lycranauts – rather it points out that as biking becomes more comfortable, you will get more of the other kinds of “people on bikes”. I think that is true, and that the aim of public policy does need to be in that direction – biking can get big mode share gains in the five miles and under trip length, probably not so much for longer rides.

    Interesting read. Thanks for posting.

    In Manila, bike commuters also seem to ride slow, but it’s because motorists also drive slow, due to the unreal congestion.

    One bike commuter’s video – he doesn’t mention the near-nonexistent bike infrastructure in Manila:
