Shirlington to Rosslyn

Hello all,

I’m looking to bike to work. I live in the Shirlington area on Four Mile Run Drive and work in Rosslyn right above the Rosslyn metro (1700 North Moore Street). Any suggestions on how to do this that doesn’t involve steep hills or crazy traffic?

I’d appreciate all ideas. Thanks!

Welcome! The route from Shirlington without hills or traffic is INCREDIBLY easy: W&OD trail – Four Mile Run trail – Mount Vernon Trail, a couple turns and you’re there. Here’s the map.

What dasgeh said. The only crazy traffic is getting through the “Intersection of Doom” at Lynn St and Lee Highway/I-66 offramp. I roll that way just about every day ending up at 1701 N Ft Myer.

Thank you for the response. This is great – I was looking at going across town and didn’t think about the Mt. Vernon Trail. I’ll explore it over the weekend to test it. Thanks.

An additional question – would anyone know of shower facilities to use after biking it in the morning?
