I left the office early (just after 1pm) to set up for my son’s birthday party at our community pool. First drops started on the W&OD just past Shrieve, had to stop to put the cover on my bag at the Virginia Ave/66 overpass, and I got chased off the road by very close lightning at the Vienna Metro, I just waited for a bus home. The radar was really messed up. It was like storms were forming on the Eastern Slope of the Blue Ridge and kept on coming east, probably that the radar couldn’t see through the rain/mountains west of there, but it made it hard to predict the weather. I kept telling my wife, it should clear in an hour or so, we are about halfway through this cell, then a new one would form and continue to wash us out. No pool party
but we were able to reschedule for 11:30 today. We shoudl get it in before the rains hit again. Then maybe a family bike ride?
