ParticipantIt won’t be while biking but I’ll try and grab some pics of the insanity that happens on East Capitol Street every year. Commuters like myself and JDAntos who go that way every day probably know already, but you’d do well to avoid East Capitol Street on Halloween. Take Mass Ave or Independence or something to avoid it. Half the surrounding area (including Maryland) brings their kids there to trick-or-treat.

I saw this this morning! I had to DRIVE to work (first time in five years) and needed to drop my husband off at the Library of Congress and then get over to Farragut North. I passed by East Capitol and saw some crazy stuff. I was going to post to this thread, but forgot until I saw DaveK’s message. I didn’t get a photo because I was behind the windshield and moving at the time.
Maybe don’t go on Halloween itself, but probably worth a ride by a night or two before if you are in the area.

The animatronic political cemetery is not to be missed. That’s on the 600 block IIRC.
We usually dress up the dog and scare the crap out of people with him on Halloween… it’s amazing how many people are scared by a giant dog dressed as a banana.

ParticipantI had so much fun lighting up my bike I am lighting up my son’s bike and putting them both in the front yard for Halloween. I’ll post photos. It’s fun and not scary.

Yep, just biked down East Capitol. Two skeletons paddling a canoe on the roof of someone’s porch.

ParticipantI didn’t have a camera on me, but on Adahi in Vienna (one block south of the W&OD their is a house overrun by skeletons (~30 of them). Pretty cool.

Now I know where I’m trick or treating this year!
