Great, now I need a “Railroad Tie” bike in addition to a gravel bike?

There is a tunnel! I rode through it this morning. When I went through I met a goat legged fellow named Mr. Tamland, and he took me to his his cave, gave me tea. I watched a lion get resurrected, helped defeat the Ice Queen, ruled the land peacefully for 100 years until I was old a grey, then I went back through and it was the same time I entered and realized “Sh*t! I’m going to be late for Friday Coffee club”

Seriously though, one one side it’s a fenced in parking lot with no exit and on the other side is the train tracks. So if you wanted to ride on the CSX tracks, or flatten a penny, this would be the place to do it.
Or drink by the train tracks. Just sayin.

What’d Mr. Tumnus ever do to you?!

ParticipantDunno if anybody else was curious or especially still cares, but I always wanted to see what’s on the other side of this tunnel and finally did this weekend.
It’s a fenced in, locked, abandoned parking lot. It doesn’t connect to anywhere. It’d be a cool place to build a skatepark or something useful to anybody.

Arlington has a skate park. What we need is a pump track

I have seen cars parked in there during the week. Not many, but some. Perhaps overflow from the lot adjacent to the access road, but it does seem far to go.

I think it is leftover overflow parking from a bygone time. The park lot even has a couple security cameras.
There are also boundary markers for the airport in the asphalt near the Airport Access Rd. And if you have the right bike you can parallel the tracks for quite awhile before it starts to feel too sketchy.

ParticipantBack in the day there used to be a car rental place somewhere at the south end of CC, just south (or under?) the bridge to the airport. That area back behind the CSX main was used for overflow parking. Not very exciting, but I see you can get through to the Parkway, which makes it kind of cool.
