I told you I was asking for a friend!
Scratching my head how NPS is having a meeting with 20 bike advocates on it’s trail plan, but expects us to get there without riding on the Parkway….

Wow. Appears to be a real thing.
Funny thing is that Google doesn’t route you there, but RWGPS picks up routing at least through the tunnel to the parking lot.

ParticipantSo this goes from CC to the maintenance yard across from the airport? And then what?

ParticipantWhen I used to ride the VRE I would see this – it connects a parking lot on the east side of the tracks with Crystal Drive on the west. At the end of the parking lot is a lot of maintenance equipment. I’m not sure but I think there are some fences there as well. Someone may need to reconnoiter.

ParticipantI’ll try to ride it on the way home tomorrow. If I’m taken by the guys with black helicopters, this may be my last post.

Perhaps this is their preemptive reply to your position. Either that, or their lack of funding requires this location.

They WANT you to ride on the Parkway. In fact they are counting on it as a way of quietly (well, aside from the odd squealing tire) eliminating up to 20 troublemakers at once.

ParticipantWell, I don’t see any big signs saying “Abandon Hope All Who Enter Here” on the street view of the CC side tunnel entrance.

ParticipantI suggest attaching bikes to super-large balloons or drones to traverse the train tracks. Or jet-powered backpacks.
