ParticipantWould they be interested in having Kidical Mass join them for the last stretch? If so, we could reach out to Megan…

I think that is a fantastic idea. I will certainly pass along all the suggestions to the organizers and hopefully get some responses from them soon. In the mean time would you mind sharing the info with Megan so she can see the facebook page for herself?

ParticipantLast year, the Tim Johnson Ride on Washington came from Boston to DC for the annual bike advocacy summit that is hosted I think by Bikes Belong.
Pete (Dirt) from the forum did the full ride, and might have a ton of good logistical information on routes, stopovers etc.
For TJROW, they published a meetup time in Baltimore for local riders who wanted to do the last 45 or so mile leg to DC. We also did a local meetup in College Park for riders to join the group for the last 15 miles, and they published a timetable so people could meet up along the way.
By the time the group got the Capitol Hill, there were maybe 100 riders — it was really cool to have people join in along the way, and it got lots of nice press coverage. They took a route like this from College Park for the final join-in section: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2086455
(PS — I also have some tips on good routes from Baltimore to DC that don’t involve portaging over train tracks or attempting to enter the I95 ramps!)

Ditto on Baltimore to DC routes – I rode it with the 2008 Climate Ride (NYC–>DC) and the last day was Baltimore to DC, via Silver Spring. There are a few tweaks that could be made once you get close to Silver Spring, but otherwise I recall it being a pretty good route: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/4037888

ParticipantI contacted them today via FB to see if Proteus can help out. They are selling SHROW top tube stickers for $5 as a fundraiser. I’m ordering 20 to start and should have them for sale at the shop by next week. Let me know if anyone wants one! — Laurie

You are the best Laurie, thank you so much for taking an interest and being so pro-active. The stickers I believe were actually an idea from my friend the bike shop manager, perhaps I should put you both in contact. Regardless, much appreciated and I will post a message on my FB page about where to get stickers. Cheers – Dickie
